The Story Behind reborn.

The vision for reborn. began in 2008, long before the term “head spa” was familiar to most people.

After opening my first salon in 2002 and working for years as a hairstylist and color specialist, I began noticing a need that traditional salon appointments did not fully address. Clients invested in beautiful color, highlights, haircuts, and styling, but there was often very little time devoted to the health of the hair and scalp beneath it all.

I saw hair that remained dry even after conditioning, scalps with ongoing buildup, oiliness, sensitivity, or flaking, and clients whose hair had been weakened by repeated chemical services and daily styling. They wanted to care for their hair, but the typical salon schedule did not allow enough time for treatments to be applied properly or for clients to truly slow down and receive that care.

Hair loss was also part of the vision from the beginning. I was already working with products for oily, dry, and flaky scalps, as well as thinning-hair concerns, and I saw how many people lived with ongoing scalp conditions without knowing how to address them.

I began offering a few simple treatments in my salon and teaching my shampoo assistants how to perform them. But in my imagination, I could see something much more complete: a peaceful, private shampoo area devoted entirely to the hair and scalp; comfortable robes instead of traditional salon gowns; customized treatments; steam, massage, and care for the head, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. I called the idea a “hair spa.”

My original vision also included a separate, more energetic styling area for blowouts and convenient color maintenance. Some of the concepts that seemed unusual then have since become familiar parts of the beauty industry. But the heart of my idea was never simply to follow a trend. It came from recognizing a genuine need and wanting to create a place where the health and integrity of the hair would receive the same attention as its appearance.

Over the years, I continued studying hair, scalp concerns, natural ingredients, and the effects that coloring, hormonal changes, heredity, and everyday life can have on the hair. I initially imagined creating fresh treatments from ingredients such as avocado, oatmeal, olive oil, and essential oils. I researched formulas and pictured exactly how everything would be prepared and stored.

Then, in 2023, I discovered Oway—an Italian professional line rooted in botanical ingredients and dedicated hair and scalp treatments. Finding a line that so closely reflected what I had envisioned felt like a blessing. It allowed me to bring the treatment experience I had carried in my heart for years into a professional, thoughtful, and consistent form.

That same year, while discussing possible business names with one of my longtime clients, we considered words such as lavender, renew, refresh, and revitalize. Nothing felt quite right. While sitting beneath the processing machine, she suddenly suggested, “What about Reborn?”

I knew immediately.

The name reflected my faith and who I am in Jesus Christ. It also expressed exactly what I wanted this experience to represent: a new beginning for the hair and scalp—a chance to restore balance, awaken what has been neglected, and create a healthier environment in which the hair can thrive.

After carrying the vision for many years, I began taking real steps toward reborn in 2023. The journey paused in 2024 when my sister Virginia became seriously ill. Virginia was a deeply loved sister, a lawyer, and a constant source of encouragement and support to me. After the loss of both her longtime partner and then my sister only months apart, I needed time to grieve and carry out the important families responsibilities she had entrusted to me.

Yet even after her passing, my sister remains part of this journey in a very personal way, helping make it possible for me to continue the dream. I will always carry gratitude for her and for the part she has in the story of reborn.

I later continued my education in hair loss and scalp health. In 2025, I became a Certified Hair Loss Practitioner and, after completing the full program and clinical training, now a Certified Clinical Trichologist. This allowed the original vision to grow into something even more purposeful: a head spa and hair-loss clinic where relaxation and luxury are joined with education, individualized care, and a genuine desire to help people better understand their hair and scalp.

reborn. was not created simply because head spas became popular. It was born from decades of working closely with clients, recognizing what was missing, experiencing some of these concerns personally, and believing that people deserve a place focused on the long-term care of their hair and scalp.

Bringing this vision to life has required years of waiting, sacrifice, hard work, and more than a few tears. I often say that reborn. has been built—and is still being built through sweat, tears, and the Holy Spirit—and that is the truth.

Above all, I give every bit of credit and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God has guided me, sustained me, and given me the strength to keep moving when I could not have done so on my own. I pray that reborn. will be a place where people feel genuinely cared for and that God will use this business for a purpose greater than I can yet see.
